あらかた (Arakata)

Meaning: Mostly or nearly completed.

  • Example Sentences:
    • あらかたの準備ができました。
      • The preparations are mostly complete.
    • 仕事があらかた終わったので、早く帰れそうだ。
      • Since the work is mostly done, I might be able to leave early.

Personally, I use and hear "daitai" rather than "arakata," but I have heard it before.
